** NEW BEGINNER CLASS - The current session of beginner classes wraps up next week. It's been an interesting couple of months because many new people gave the class a try all through the past six weeks. I'm always happy to see people come in to give it a try, and I hope the extra practice on the easier dances was welcome by those of you who have been faithfully attending. I'll teach one more new dance this week in all three locations, then next week is going to be sort of a bonus week for Hooksett and Manchester, because we started a week later in Bedford. We'll just dance for fun February 28, 29 and March 1, then the new beginner session will start March 6, 7 and 8. See my website for details.
** WHAT YOU MISSED AT WORLDS WORKSHOP - My good friend Denise Brault has put together a great line dance workshop for those who are beyond the beginner level. Worlds is the United Country Western Dance Council's global competition, and many new dances are introduced at that event. She has a mix of lessons planned from "improver" level to advanced. It's this Saturday, February 25, from 1 to 5 PM at the Mill-A-Round. Just $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Denise, Tina Foster, Sarah Preston and I will be teaching. Details at www.DeniseBrault.com.
** NELOL - Northeast Ladies of Line workshop -- Forty Arroyo is a wonderful dancer, choreographer, teacher and host, and she has graciously invited me back to teach at the Northeast Ladies of Line workshop in Sturbridge MA, June 15 and 16. This is a beginner-friendly event, but there's a variety of levels of dances taught so there's something for everyone! This is a fundraiser to fight arthritis, and the raffle prizes are amazing...admission to all the major dance events you'd ever want to go to, plus other great prizes. ** SMOKIE'S - If you like country dancing, you should join the folks at Smokie's! This is a group of dancers, led by Brian and Arlene Lee, who have dances at various locations. The next three dances take place at the Moose Lodge in North Reading, Mass, on February 25, March 31 and April 21. I plan to attend all three, and in March and April I'll be teaching some beginner-level dances before the dance starts from 6 to 7 PM. Well we finally received our new 2012 Liquor License for the Dance Ranch & Saloon, 70 James Street, Worcester MA. After waiting 4 months, dozens of phone calls and emails - Success. All beverages are now available at the Ranch. Also, beginning Sunday February 26th, Justin Mayotte will be teaching beginner level Line Dances at the Dance Ranch. Lessons begin at 6:00PM and go `til 9:00PM.

The Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association is having a jamboree February 26th at the Baha Brother's Sandbar Grill, 64 Weir Street, Taunton, MA. 2 to 6PM. Sunday March 4th 2012 at 2PM - Stockbridge Theater in Derry NH - With Special Guest: Karen Grenier (www.kgrenier.com) to open the show William is a medically fragile 8 year old child diagnosed with Mitochondrial complex I and III deficiencies, failure to thrive, cerebral folate deficiency, epilepsy, dyspraxia, spastic diplegia, dysphagia, and acid reflux…just to name a few. Even though he can eat by mouth, he hardly feels hunger, so he is also fed by a feeding tube and takes over twenty doses of medicine a day. Because of William's complicated medical issues, his walking has gotten worse and is very unsteady. He walks on his toes most of the time and by the end of the day he is crawling around the house. Innovative Neurotronics has come up with The Pediatric Walkaide, an electronic stimulation unit that attaches to each of William's legs and sends signals to his nerves to lift his feet when he walks. Just want to say Thank You to those who were in attendance at the Webster Legion on Sunday the 12th for our Ham and Bean dinner as well as a BIG thanks to the Truck Stop Troubadours for a great evening of music and dance. The crowd was asking for more from the band and man did they get it! OUTSTANDING and lots of fun. Just a side note to all venues that are booking the band, it is quite obvious there is a disgruntled and disturbed person calling around informing the clubs of some serious allegations which unless he can prove it or step up and give his name and phone number I strongly suggest you tell him where to go, as I did.
